Lots of Pictures!

So we've been busy, to say the least! Mason is now 3 weeks old and a joyful baby.  Ava is almost 4 and Ella is 2 years. For all those who have been asking I'm doing good too, althought Iam sleep deprived! It is so much harder to "sleep when they sleep" like you are told to do when you have a baby!!!! In fact it is impossible when you have 3 cause one of them is ALWAYS awake!!! Ava no longer naps, so even when Ella & Mason are sleeping, Ava needs her mommy and I've found that that is good 1 on 1 time for her & I! But we are hanging in there and things seem to get better each day. We're figuring out how to function as a family of 5 !
Mason is a great baby & loves his sisters. Though sometimes he gives a little cry, I think of it as a warning cry, when the girls are kinda "to much" for him... that's when I know to ask them to back away.
He loves to lay in the sun, which is good cause he's still a little jaundice. So early morning he bathes... in the sun that is, we open the blinds and lay him in the bright sun light and he is calm so long as the sun is on him. It is so cute, he just kicks it for like an hour. I know when the sun has moved, cause he fusses.
Cross your fingers for us, still no Colic!!! :)  He really has only one fussy period during the day and it's from about 9 PM -11:30 PM. I think he'll be a night owl like his parents... Oh man!

Mason does however have a clogged tear duct in his left eye which then turned into an infection, so he saw the doctor Monday morning.
We were given drops and massage techniques to help open the tear duct. In just the last day I see a total difference in his eye infection.
The tear duct is more something that he will grow out of, so his eye is always watery, cause it can't drain. But he does seem less uncomfortable with his drops, I think that they soothe.
Ava is completely into playing outside. She loves it! Anything outside, walks, bike rides, swimming, sitting, anything outside.
So that is good, cause we have a large backyard that can keep her busy. She is not in school any more, and misses it. She asks often when she gets to go again, which is really cute and hopefully lasts for a long time cause I hated school! She is the greatest helper that I could ask for.
Not only does she put binkys in Mason's mouth when he fusses, she get diapers, wipes, onesies, outfits, blankets and toys for Mason, but since I had Mason she also help SO much with Ella. (We've actually had a little problem with it.) Ava will ask Ella to "take 2 more bites then you can get down" or"I'll read to you, Mommy's feeding Bubba" (Ella calls Mason Bubba cause she can't say brother)  Ava helps so much that the other day, Roni was here, but we all the sudden heard Ella crying in her room... turns out Ava had put her down for a nap! Ella was NOT happy about that.
Ava also likes to put Ella's shoes on for her when we are leaving, and not to get to "detailed" but I even caught Ava wiping Ella! (I'm just thankful I caught that one, so I could explain that only Mommy does that(unfortunately!)) And not only is she helpful, but she is so loving! Her kisses for Mason have now turned into multiple at a time... and she doesn't back away in between kisses. She just gives him like 5-6 like I would all over his head!

I love when the girls hold their brother, cause they are so caring, and soft.

Ella is getting so big, she now enjoys reading books, trying to ride her bike (we're still teaching her), & holding her brother.
Ella has become SO attached to Brett since Mason came into the home. It is very cute. First thing when she wakes, she wants to know where Daddy is.  She cries for her Daddy when she is hurt & always wants to help Daddy with everything. But I guess that's true with everything.
Ella is our helper. Today both her and Ava were carrying in one bag of groceries each. Ava gave up half way to the kitchen and dropped her bag. Ella picked it up! When I tried to help her with her now 2 bags... she said "No, I do." And they were not light when both carried together. Our little champ.
She also likes to make her own bed, at age 2. Brush her own teeth(which I insist on doing after too!), dressing herself and going potty alone too! Now she wants "acy" (privacy) cause we've been working on privacy with Ava.

Summer Fun

So here are some photos of our adventures over the last few days. Unfortunately, I am pregnant/forgetful so the camera missed a bunch! :(

So the last few days, or rather, since we found out we are to be induced this Monday... I've been thinking a lot about about how our family will never be just us again. It will forever be Ava, Ella & Mason. So the last few days I've tried to keep them entertained... making fun memories! I guess you could say.
We've been outside everyday, thank heaven for the weather!  We have great front and back yards, but our back yard is shady, cause we have mature trees back there so we play back there, but don't swim, or run through the sprinklers. So we've been out front a lot, with the sprinkler on and our little pool filled up! It's been so much fun, and the girls play with their cars and bikes in between swimming and running. They are so active.

The other day I took the girls down to the river. It's about 2 blocks from our house and it has a great walking trail... goes for like 2 miles... but then we walk back so it takes us a while!

The girls are so happy when they are outside, I guess they are just active little ones like I know I was! In fact the other day Ella ate a bug! Yep! The whole rollie pollie, swallowed it whole! Whatever, I guess you can just tell them not to do it again. Oh and today Ava came to me and told me, "Mom, I think I have a rock in my tummy..." to which I replied, "okay, how did it get there?"  she calmly asked, "you're not mad at me?" and I said, "well did you do it on purpose?" "No, she replied" then I proceeded, "Are you gonna do it again?" "No" she replied. So I figured that was over. I guess, when you take kids outside, stuff happens! Can't keep them in a bubble like those Clorox commercials... huh... oh sorry just day dreaming about that for a second! :)

We've also been around to Baum Park in Ogden, it's a great medium sized park with a pond, ducks, seagulls, geese and walking trails. The ducks were great, seagulls annoying (though the kids loved them), and the Geese... well they weren't very nice... more like aggressive! The trails were nice, for the girls to "explore" off in the trees a bit. And we all love outings that Daddy is there too! Plus, we got ice cream on the way home.

A few nights ago we rented a Red Box movie, as Ava calls it "Raining Gumballs Bedtime Stories" every time she says it, it's just like that :) We then waited for Daddy, popped some popcorn and snacked on some candies... Oh and with every good movie night, the girls got to stay up late too! (only 8:30 PM) but to them it was perfect. They talked about it for days!

Well if anything else comes up... I'll be sure to post it!

Mason is coming!

We had a doctors appointment today, all is well! Heartbeat is strong, blood pressure is great and no swelling! He and I are healthy and strong, even though we are still contracting. (so frustrating!)  But count your blessings right?

We didn't get an ultrasound at this appointment, 38 weeks, cause he is doing great and it was not needed, so sad (I love seeing him...)
Our doctor did ask if we would like to be induced or wait it out? And I thought to myself... huh...
"did she really just ask me that?... I've been contracting for 11 weeks now, on and off of bed rest... and Oh! wait she meant today? Do I wanna be induced today? That's gotta be what she meant... (cause any woman in her right mind would know I'd jump at the opportunity to get him out of me)"  So I responded...
"today?" she gave me such a sympathy smile and said "I'm sorry, but no. Next week, Monday."  I just about died...
Of course, I totally would have done it today, but am relieved to have a week to plan/prepare. It will be so nice to take my girls to my mom's house Sunday afternoon... get them settled, come home... straighten up and have a good nights rest. Plus this way my sister can be there, and Brett can get the restaurant in order and ready for his paternity leave.  So Monday June 1st should be Mason's birthday!!! It's nice to have an end in sight... finally.
